Full Day.  Leave Coyhaique going northwest to Puerto Aysen, about 80km. (50 miles). On this beautiful route bordering the Simpson River, we find the Coyhaique viewpoint, from where we get a panoramic view of the regional capital. Then stops for photos to capture waterfalls like the Velo de la Novia (Bride’s Veil) and the Cascada de la Virgen (Virgin’s Fall). Reaching Puerto Aysen, brief tour of the city followed by a stop at the waterfront on Aysen River, with a fabulous view of the suspension bridge. Continue to Aiken del Sur Park which forms part of a private Eco-tourism reserve. There the guides present an orientation at the visitors’ center which has exhibitions of the regional flora, fauna and anthropology. After this, the walk on a well-marked path along the river starts. It is about 2km. (just over a mile), mainly level but with some changes in level and some steps. There are rest stations along the way, where the guides give information about the place. Almost at the end of the path, an impressive waterfall is reached, known as the Barba del Viejo (Old Man’s Beard). Lunch is included. Return to Coyhaique.
