Belmar is an eco-mountain hotel, located next to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and not far from other protected areas such as Santa Elena Reserve and the Children Eternal Rainforest. Recently renovated, the hotel offers spectacular views and personalized service in a relax atmosphere, combined with the beauty of the surrounding landscape. It offers 22 comfortable rooms of different categories: Belmar rooms (Forest, Peninsula and Peninsula Superior) and Chalet Deluxe rooms (Belmar Peninsula room, Canopy room, Sunrise room and Sunset room). All rooms feature locally crafted and hand carved wooden furniture, safety deposit box, telephone, well-appointed minibar and hair dryer. In addition, the Chalet Deluxe rooms have a sitting area, a whirlpool Jacuzzi and amenities include cotton slippers and bathrobes.
Other facilities and services offered: a restaurant and a bar, a Jacuzzi, a private nature trail, laundry service, free Wi-Fi internet access and a pool table. All of the rooms are kept 100% toxic free using gentle and biodegradable cleaning products made in Costa Rica and water is heated with solar panels. Belmar has recently been awarded the highest sustainability distinction possible in Costa Rica – 5 leaves in the Certificate for Sustainable Tourism (sponsored by the Costa Rican Tourism Board). This certification is highly praise as it acknowledges Hotel Belmar’s thirty years of passionate commitment to the conservation of Monteverde’s natural environment and resources, and also to its social commitment.
