Located in Argentina’s Río Negro province, Bariloche is a city surrounded by thousand-year-old forests, mountains covered in snow and crystal-clear water lakes. The city is located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, next to the Andes. There are lots of activities for you to enjoy in Bariloche: trekking and tours, sailing, winter sports for all tastes, world class cuisine, adventure tourism, romantic getaways, family activities, peaceful breaks and a diverse culture.
Bariloche’s high-end cuisine fuses European tastes with authentic local flavors. Wild game, fish, smoked meat, cheese and berries are the staples of the region’s meals. Take a journey of flavors that you’ll never forget: Trout carpaccio, lamb strudel, and the traditional curanto from Colonia Suiza. Day 8 – Bariloche

Today you will have a free day to explore and enjoy Bariloche and the Lake District area by your own. We suggest the following self-drive route:
CIRCUITO CHICO (SHORT CIRCUIT):
The Short Circuit begins in downtown Bariloche. Driving along the edge of the southern banks of Nahuel Huapi lake, as you follow Bustillo avenue. The San Pedro peninsula and Puerto Bueno are beautiful spots where you can enjoy the amazing scenery and discover a small cave.
After going around the peninsula, you will reach Villa Llao Llao at milestone 23. You’ll find a stunning viewpoint and other attractions in the area including the Llao Llao hotel, with its magnificent natural environment, the Llao Llao municipal park, where you can take quiet walks through the woods. You’ll see Puerto Pañuelo, the starting point of the lake tours and Victoria Island, the Myrtle Woods and Puerto Blest.
The circuit continues deep into the Llao Llao peninsula. At milestone 30, a road opens that takes you to Villa Tacul, overlooking the Llao Llao bay. The circuit then takes you to Escondido Lake, where you can visit the Tourist Information office. Once you leave the peninsula, at milestone 33, the road crosses the Angostura stream. From here you can take a detour that leads to the Bahía López area, where you’ll find the rocky walls of mounts López and Capilla.
Following the Shorter Circuit, when you get to milestone 40 you’ll find another panoramic viewpoint – 945 meters (3,100 feet) above sea level – with an excellent view of the Moreno lake and the Llao Llao peninsula. Traveling along the banks of Moreno lake, at milestone 42, you’ll see the bridge that connects the east and west sides of the lake. There you can take a detour to the left to discover Colonia Suiza, where you can visit the small farms and campsites and have a delicious cup of tea.
Resuming the circuit route, 17 kilometers (10 miles) from the city you’ll find Mount Campanario: From the viewpoint located at the top you can enjoy the most incredible panoramic views (Estimated entrance fee: USD 8 per person). Finally, at milestone 45, you begin heading back toward Bariloche.

PRIVATE NAVIGATION TO VICTORIA ISLAND.
The excursion begins with the transfer to the place from where the boat departs. First, we will sail to Victoria Island, visiting its central part on a guided walk that goes through the old nursery, where different exotic tree species can be seen, including Sequoias. Following the trails of this beautiful and thousand-year-old island, you’ll reach Playa del Toro, where you can see the paintings made by the ancient inhabitants that used to live in the area, surrounded by a magnificent volcanic-sand beach. The island has places to have lunch and places to have picnics.
Then we will embark again until we reach the Quetrihué peninsula, where the Arrayanes Forest National Park is located. The Myrtle (called “quetrihue” in the mapuche language) is a bush with an exquisite saffron color and white flowers. In this place, the only one in the world, the bush takes a tree form and creates a magical and rare forest. There we will tour this wonderful forest in a circuit of approximately 45 minutes. The return is direct to the pier in Bariloche, where the car will be waiting to take you back to the hotel.

Day 9 – Bariloche

Today you will have a free day to explore and enjoy Bariloche and the Lake District area by your own. We suggest the following activity:
VILLA LA ANGOSTURA, SEVEN LAKES ROAD AND SAN MARTÍN DE LOS ANDES:

Villa La Angostura:
Located in the heart of the “Seven Lakes Route”, it´s the gateway to The Arrayanes National Park. Beaches, forests and mountains combine their colors, and create new beautiful sceneries each season. It also has everything you need to live a romantic experience any time in the year. You can feel the peaceful serenity of a typical town by the Andes Range. This is why it is one of the touristic jewels of Patagonia in Neuquén, privileged by its location at the foot of lakes, mountain tops and forests of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Among the numerous natural circuits and attractions, you can visit the Arrayanes forest, located in the Quetrihué Peninsula. This National Park keeps specimens of up to 600 years old of a cinnamon-colored tree, which is unique in the world and reaches a height of 25 m.
Seven Lakes Road:
By more than 100 km, between the cities of San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura (two of the most charming cities in the region, in the Province of Neuquén), crystal water between mountains and landscapes full of nature make up an unparalleled context. Tourists from all over the world go there to visit and interpret nature in its purest state. Lácar, Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Correntoso and Espejo integrate this circuit of unrepeated lakes, a scenery from a fairy tale. The tour may take around 3 hours including lookouts, breathtaking landscapes and the invitation to take a thousand photographs.
San Martin de los Andes:
The frame that the city sets is a seal of unparalleled harmony and beauty. At the foot of Lácar Lake, San Martín appears as one of the dream places in Patagonia. An ideal place to enjoy a nice rest with the family. Sailing tours, panoramic points, beach, snow, typical gastronomy and streets, which seem to have been taken from fairy tales, to walk them again and again are some of its credentials.
After visiting San Martin de los Andes, you will back to Bariloche by routes 40 and 63 (This last is a gravel mountain road), passing throud the Limay river valley in the border with the steppe, where incredible rocky formations can be enjoyed.
We suggest to leave from Bariloche early, you will be able to get very good meals in Villa La Angostura or in San Martin de los Andes.

Today you will drive to Bariloche airport, from where you will drop off the car and get your flight out.
