The tour starts out with a full visit of Puerto Montt, the region’s capital that faces the Seno de Reloncavi and has a bay on its western flank protected by Tenglo Island. Due to its strategic location, it’s the man link with the Chiloe archipelago and Chilean Patagonia, thanks to its international airport, El Tepual Air Base (the second most important in the country) and seaport.  Once in Puerto Montt’s Plaza de Armas square, the Cathedral and monument in honour of the German colonizers can be visited. The Manuel Montt viewpoint is a great place to take in panoramic views of the city, including the Seno de Reloncavi and Tenglo Island. Later, the picturesque cove of Angelmó is visited, featuring a market, typical eateries and a crafts fair where a wide variety of typical products of the area are up for sale.  The trip continues on to Puerto Varas, a city and lake resort lying on the western bank of Llanquihue Lake, renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and the German traditions of its founders. The ride along the waterfront bordering part of the lake offers impressive views of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes. Return to hotel after visiting Plaza de Armas square, the older quarters and the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that is an exact replica of a church in Germany’s Black Forest.
