Coyhaique is considered the most important city of the Carretera Austral. From here you can make trips to know the General Carrera Lake and the chapels of marble, the Queulat Park located on the southern North highway.

Located on the foot of hill Macay and was built around its 5 sided square. The city is the starting point of all tours in the region of Aysén. In its surroundings you will find attractions like Cerro El Fraile Ski Center, Lake Elizalde and Cerro Castillo National reserve. 120 km. away from the city there is Puerto Aysén, set on the shores of Aysén river, near Río Simpson National Reserve. This is the departure place of most expeditions to San Rafael Lagoon.

Half Day. Founded in 1929, Coyhaique is the capital city of unexplored and remote Patagonia Aysen. It sits in a beautiful valley of rolling hills between the Simpson and Coyhaique Rivers, with Divisadero Hill to the south. The day starts with a walk to get to know the city, discovering the various neighborhoods and always with an eye for the incomparable surrounding natural beauty. Continuing to the ‘Piedra del Indio’ (Indian’s Rock) lookout point, we will see the rock. It’s also posle appreciate the river and nature around this point of interest. During this tour, visits to points of interest of the city, such as the ‘Plaza del Pionero’ (Pioneer Square) with its monument to the Sheep Farmer and the Artisans Market, where craft products from the whole region are sold. This is opposite the ‘Plaza de Armas’ (Main Square) and has an interesting pentagonal shape. Finally, we will take a brief visit to the D’Olbeck Brewery with tasting. This local beer factory was founded by a family of Belgian immigrants. The excellent beer is made with European quality ingredients and the pure, crystalline water of Patagonia.
