We will be transferred to the pier of Puno where we will board the vessel that will take us to the Floating Islands of Uros whose people are considered as the oldest inhabitants of the Andean Plateau who decided to live in this inhospitable environment in order to avoid the imposition of foreign cultures. These islands are built using totora reed and are used as home and trade centers for the natives, who use hand-made boats of the same material as their means of transportation. We will go on to Taquile Island, where the community kindly welcome tourist, keeping their traditional alive, as well as their costumer and colorful typical dresses; these people are very skilled artisans. And they show in every piece of work all the techniques developed for centuries.
