RECIFE

Although Recife is the fourth-largest city in Brazil, it is less modern and cosmopolitan than its more famous counterparts.

Often called the Venice of Brazil for its many canals, bridges, and tiny one-way streets, it is a wonderful city, with deep cultural roots. The handicraft is quite unique, including clay figurines, wood sculptures, leather goods and woven.

The wealthy Boa Viagem district is the best place to stay, with its nice hotels and fine restaurants. At the Old Town, the history of the city is preserved and tourists can visit interesting places such as: Republica square, Santa Isabel teather, Sao Pedro cathedral and the colorful Sao Jose Market.
