Florianopolis is famous for its long stretches of isolated beaches and quaint fishing villages. Located on the South of Brazil, lots of Brazilians consider this as one of their favorite places in the country and it is also a second home to many Argentines and Europeans. Being in the South of the country, the seasons are more defined, so if you’re looking for warm beach weather we recommend visiting this area in the summer, between the months of October and March.
The beaches on the ocean facing side of the island have some good waves, surfing is a very popular sport in the city.
In the north part, the beaches have calm waters and good touristic facilities. Jurerê, Canasvieiras and Ingleses became fashionable vacation spots for locals and tourists.
On the east, Conceição Lagoon and the beaches of Joaquina, Mole and Barra da Lagoa are the destinations for young people and the best places to practice radical sports.
