Departure hotel to the Floating Port of Manaus. On a regional boat, we will go down Negro River, observing the shore of the city: the stilt-style houses, the Customs and Guardamoria buildings, the Adolpho Lisboa Municipal Market and the several igarapés” (creeks) that cross Manaus. Witness the “Meeting of the Waters”, a spectacular junction of the Negro and Solimões Rivers, which runs for more than 12 kms, side by side, without mixing. The phenomenon happens due to the differences in temperature, density and speed of the waters of the rivers. Journey to Janauari Lake and stop at a craft center operated by the local people. Lunch will be served at a floating Brazilian restaurant or onboard the boat. After lunch, ride on motorized canoes through igarapés (creeks) and igapós (flooded forests), and see the beautiful Vitória-Régia (Amazon Victória), an aquatic plant that reaches almost two meters in circumference, with borders of up to 10cm in height.
