The tour begins at the Plaza de Armas of Punta Arenas where you can see the bronze sculpture that was inaugurated in 1920 and that represents the navigator Hernando de Magallanes. Near the main square, apart from being able to visit the cathedral church, the government building, the traditional Cape Horn hotel, there are the Sara Braun palace and the residence of José Braun Menéndez, two mansions worth visiting for understand the influence of this family on the origins of the city. After this visit you can go to know 2 places that are in the vicinity of the square such as the Roca kiosk where their products are manufactured following ancient family recipes that have been transmitted from generation to generation for more than 90 years and that to this day we continue to maintain with total fidelity. So they work with local master craftsmen who prepare their products in a personalized way, using the best raw materials in their elaboration. After visiting and tasting in this place, there is a short walk along Bories street in Punta Arenas where you can visit another gastronomic place typical of the region, such as the local chocolatta where you can find a variety of regional chocolates and sweets of regional character. To end the tour you will pass through the viewpoint of the “Cerro de la Cruz”, from where you have a magnificent general view of the city with its colorful roofs, the Strait of Magellan, and in the background the great Island of Tierra del Fuego.
