Departure from the hotel to the Airport in Santa Elena at 08:00 am. After a flight above amazing Mayan Biosphere Reserve, you will arrive to El Mirador at 09:00 am. You will be leading a guided long walk through this amazing place, (OPTIONAL: you can also hire a professional archeologist tour guide, with an additional cost). El Mirador has been a resource of archeology researches for the last 26 years, evertheless, some people think that El Mirador has been recently discovered in Guatemalan rainforests. The origin of the name is still unknown, but maybe the Mayas might called it “Ox Te Tun” or “The Place where the gods were born”, while the ruling dynasty- who controlled a large area-could be known as “Kan” or “ snake”. This hardly beginning to be understood.

El Mirador is one of the oldest places and one of the biggest Mayan cities, which contains the massive construction pyramid ever known in the planet called Danta, which is 79 meters tall. Its construction area consists with only 2.8 million cubic meters and it covers an area of 6.5 x 3.5 football fields! As you can see, El Mirador Pyramids have been named using names of animals. “La Danta” means “tapir”. In the morning, you will be able to see La Pava Group and you will appreciate Antique residences called Cascabel then, you will have lunch at 2:15 pm in the base camp. After lunch, you will visit Structure 313, recently restored, and Structure 34, where you can appreciate an amazing frieze that exhibits the jaguar claw. From the top of Pirámide del Tigre, the second highest mountain of El Mirador, which has 72 meters of height, you could see an unforgettable panoramic view of the rainforest and with this we conclude our visit in El Mirador. You will return to the Heliport at 3:15 pm, departs from El Mirador at 4:00 pm. You will arrive to Flores International Airport at 4:30 pm. You will be transferred to the hotel in Flores
