Highlight: Torre Hill Departing from El Calafate to El Chaltén for made a trekking in Torre Hills (4 hs approx.) After a short slope, this amazing trail climbs up into a Ñire tree forest, by the Fitz Roy river. The path goes through the local vegetation, full of beautiful flowers, typical Patagonian ñire and lenga trees with the occasional red-headed woodpecker knocking with its sturdy beak. That is why it is better to walk silently and attentively until reaching the lookout at mount Torre. This is a perfect spot to enjoy the view of the granitic Torre, the Adela range, and mount Solo’s glaciers. After lunch and a short rest to regain energy, it is time to return to El Chaltén.
